"Carder Shapes On Line" is an attempt to create an online database
of a pictoral review of shape numbers Frederick Carder of Steuben
Glass used between 1903-1933 in his glass creations. This database is a large
project that will take many years to even partially touch upon the 8000+
shapes that Carder utilized, but with time, this database will be a great asset to research shapes, variants, decorations, and color. It will only be through enthusiasts of Carder's glass that this project will be able to succeed and below
I have listed the requirements necessary to make this project succeed.
Submit digital image via email to webmaster@cardersteubenclub.com or send photograph to Brokenshards P.O. Box 180352 Utica, MI 48318 along with
shape, color, decoration, or any other descriptors that will be helpful
to others using the database. This image should be against either a black background or a white background depending upon the color of the article. This image must be one you have taken or own. This is important in order to comply with copyright laws! The site can not accept pictures that are taken from other websites without the permission of the owner of the image. Please let the webmaster know if you believe any of the images do not belong on the site. Remember, the image you submit is going to be viewed as a representative
of that shape to a world wide audience, so take care as to send the best image
possible you can. If you see a piece you question its authenticity, please alert the webmaster. Pictures of items that the authenticity is questioned will be pulled from the site until reviewed by several people knowledgeable about that particular type of article. Contributors of pictures have their choice of their name attached to the picture that is submitted and viewable by the general public or to be listed on the contributor list.
